Our Northern Morocco 2-day tour brings together the very best of the north in one easy, private escape: the whitewashed medina of Asilah on the Atlantic, an evening and a night in the blue city of Chefchaouen high in the Rif Mountains, the UNESCO-listed Andalusian medina of Tetouan and a panoramic tour of Tangier to finish. Day 1: Tangier – Asilah – Chefchaouen

Your driver welcomes you at your hotel, the port or the airport in Tangier. Head south along the Atlantic coast to Asilah, a peaceful seaside town famous for its whitewashed medina, colourful murals and Portuguese ramparts. A relaxed guided walk takes you through its picturesque lanes to the small harbour and the art galleries. The road then climbs into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen in the late afternoon. Check in at your hotel, stroll through the blue-washed lanes of the medina and spend the evening on Outa el Hammam square, where a rooftop café is the perfect spot for mint tea or a Moroccan dinner.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Tetouan – Tangier

After breakfast, your local guide shows you Chefchaouen on foot: the historic Kasbah, the lively market and the Ras el Ma spring, where mountain water flows through the town. You learn about its Andalusian roots and the Berber traditions still alive today. At midday, drive to Tetouan, the “White Dove of the North”, for a guided visit of its UNESCO-listed medina, its souks and its artisan workshops. In the late afternoon, return to Tangier for a two-hour panoramic drive and walking visit: the Kasbah, the medina, the Grand Socco, the Mendoubia Gardens and the American Legation. Your driver then drops you at the address of your choice in Tangier.

Sleeping in Chefchaouen makes all the difference: you see the blue city at its calmest, in the evening and early in the morning, once the day visitors have left. Your night is booked at Villa Rita or a similar property, breakfast included.
