The road from Tangier to Tetouan

Tetouan lies about 60 km from the port, around an hour to an hour and a quarter by road each way depending on traffic. In summer the coast road gets busy, which we take into account when we set the times.

The historic medina and its Andalusian heritage

Tetouan’s medina was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century by refugees from Al-Andalus. Its whitewashed houses, carved doors and tiled fountains still show that Andalusian influence, and UNESCO added the medina to its World Heritage List in 1997. Explore the lanes and souks at your own pace, see the Royal Palace on Feddan square from outside, and walk through the Spanish-era quarter built during the protectorate. Keep free time for photographs and for the craftsmen’s workshops.

Return to the ship

We set the departure from Tetouan with a safety margin before your all-aboard time. The driver stays reachable by phone and WhatsApp all day. However, traffic and other events beyond our control can still cause delays, so please keep to the meeting time agreed in town.
