Distance and road from Chefchaouen to Fes

The road runs through Ouezzane, then down to the Saïss plain. It is paved and in good condition, but winding in the first part. So plan a few breaks if you get car sick, especially with children.

Three ways to make the trip

  • CTM bus: cheap and reliable, but with few departures and fixed times. Check the timetable on the official CTM website.
  • Grand taxi: shared with other passengers, often with a change in Ouezzane, and no space planned for large suitcases.
  • Private transfer: the driver picks you up at the medina gate closest to your riad, stops whenever you like and drops you as close as possible to your accommodation in Fes.

The private Chefchaouen to Fes transfer

Our Chefchaouen to Fes transfer costs €150 for 1 to 3 passengers, €170 for 4 to 7 and €220 for 8 to 17, per vehicle, one way. The price includes fuel, tolls and reasonable waiting time at departure. Moreover, you pay the driver on the day, with no online payment.

What to see on the way

Ouezzane, a pilgrimage town known for its weavers, is worth a short stop. If you have a full day, you can also detour via the Roman site of Volubilis and Moulay Idriss before reaching Fes; ask us for a quote for this itinerary.

Arriving in Fes

The Fes el-Bali medina is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Cars cannot enter it: your driver drops you at the gate closest to your riad, where a porter can carry your luggage.
