Our Chefchaouen tour from Marbella takes you to Chefchaouen, the blue city of the Rif, privately and at your own pace. From Marbella, you reach Tarifa port (about 1 h 15 for 105 km by road), cross the Strait of Gibraltar in about an hour and meet your guide at the exit of Tangier Ville port. Blue lanes, the Kasbah, Outa el Hammam square and sunset over the mountains.
BBK Tours is a licensed tourist-transport company based in Morocco: we run the whole Moroccan part. The road transfer in Spain to Tarifa port is arranged on request with a partner operator, and the Tarifa – Tangier ferry ticket is booked in your name by us, or you can buy it yourself.
Allow about 1 h 15 for 105 km by road between Marbella and Tarifa, then one hour on the Baleària or AML ferry to Tangier Ville port. Your private driver then takes you to Chefchaouen: about 2 h 15 (115 km) by road, in an air-conditioned vehicle reserved for your group.
Tucked into the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen is famous for its blue-painted lanes. Your guide leads you from Outa el Hammam square to the Kasbah, then to the Ras el Ma spring, before climbing to the Spanish mosque viewpoint for a view over the whole town. In the evening and early in the morning the medina is quiet again: the best time for photos and for wandering between the craft stalls.
With about 1 h 15 for 105 km on the road to Tarifa, one hour on the ferry and more than two hours between Tangier and Chefchaouen, a same-day return would leave too little time there. Over two days you enjoy the blue city in the afternoon, at sunset and early in the morning, when the medina is at its most beautiful.
A valid passport is required to enter Morocco: an ID card is not enough. Morocco is on GMT, so Spain is one hour ahead in winter and two in summer; the programme below is in Moroccan time. In strong easterly wind the ferry can be cancelled: we then move your trip to another date with you. To book your Chefchaouen tour from Marbella, send us the date and the ferry times you would like: we confirm the programme and the total price before you leave.
